Who Can Get A High School Equivalency Diploma
Who Can Get A High School Equivalency Diploma
Anyone who has not completed high school, no matter how old they are, can get a high school equivalency diploma. No matter what the reason for you not finishing high school, you can complete your education and get your diploma without having to even enter another classroom. This can all be done online.
Unlike a GED, which used to be the only way to go when it came to completing a high school education after the fact, a high school equivalency diploma can be completed right from the comfort of your own home on your computer. Anyone can sign up for the class and study as much as needed towards the test. When ready, anyone can take the test. When the test is completed and passed, you can get your high school equivalency diploma.
Without a high school education, life is hard. You will be subjected to menial jobs at best. If you want to get ahead, you are going to have to complete your high school education. This is the only way for you to get the type of job that will pay decent money. Yet if you are already struggling with a full time job now, or perhaps two jobs, it may be impossible for you to attend a GED class schedule and take a test. GED tests are only given at certain times of the year and classes fill up quickly. Getting your high school equivalency diploma is a much more convenient alternate to a GED.
In addition to being more convenient, a high school equivalency diploma may look better on your resume. You do not have to put down GED, but the name of the high school that gives you the equivalency diploma as you alma mater. Although they are basically the same thing, it might look better on your resume to say that you have a high school equivalency diploma than a GED. For some reason, employers always question why someone left high school before graduation. Getting a high school equivalency diploma can alleviate unnecessary questions.
No matter how old you are or how long it has been since you left high school, it is not too later to get your high school equivalency diploma. People who get these diplomas range anywhere from 18 to 80. Finishing high school is a goal that many people put off for a long time. Dropping out of high school 50 years ago was not uncommon at all. Most people, even if they ended up having decent careers (as they could 50 years ago without an education, unlike today) still regretted not finishing high school and many go back just so they can complete this goal.
Others have recently left school for an assortment of reasons but realize that there will be more employment opportunities available to them if they get a high school equivalency diploma. For this reason, many people are enrolling in this program and completing their high school education right now.
