High School Equivalency Diploma vs
High School Equivalency Diploma vs. GED
You may wonder why get a high school equivalency diploma over a GED. What is the difference?
There is no difference between the GED and the high school equivalency diploma. Both of them show that you went back to high school after you left and took the test to indicate that you are now a high school graduate. Many people choose to leave school before they graduate. Many do not like the school or have a problem with bullying for some reason. In some schools, there are gangs and students are actually in fear for their lives. There are many reasons why students end up leaving school and not graduating.
However, when you go for a job and put down that you have a GED on your resume, your employer will automatically ask why you left school. They may think that you left because you got kicked out or expelled. Employers often always think the worst.
On the other hand, if you put down that you have a high school equivalency diploma from an accredited high school, the employer will not even notice. Chances are that they will glance right over that part of the resume and start asking you questions that really matter.
The main difference, however, between a GED and a high school equivalency diploma is that you can get the high school equivalency diploma online, unlike the GED. You cannot get a GED online or take the test online. You have to usually buy the book and then take the test at a state facility on a certain date. They only have a few dates a year. If you work on that date you are out of luck.
The high school equivalency test, however, is a nice alternate to the GED. You can not only take the test online but you can also study the study guides before you take the test so that you are all brushed up on your knowledge. If it has been a while since you left high school, it will be helpful to take a practice test or at least answer some questions that will be asked on the test. You can then take the test for your high school equivalency diploma right online from your own home computer. What can be easier?
Both the high school equivalency diploma and the GED will open doors for your that were previously closed when you did not have a high school education. You may find that you like learning so much online that you choose to continue your education and get a college degree online as well. There is nothing like learning at your own pace to make learning fun.
Although both are basically the same thing, the high school equivalency diploma is a much better solution for a busy person than the GED. Both will enable you to get jobs that you could not get before you completed high school but only one will allow you to take the test from your home and that is the high school equivalency diploma test.
